For founder Ben, Universal York started as a passion project and turned into a full-blown creative film force.

With friends Andrew and Bree, the Universal York team create unique wedding films, along with other quality products, knowing that the way to achieve that properly is to hand craft everything they do.

With a love of working with people and collaborating with other artists, the team believe that the heart behind every one of their projects is to create something unique and inspiring, while having a good time doing it! Life is for living, that’s why they do the things they do.

This small team of bright, creative minds come with over eight years of experience between them. Ben is a self taught cinematographer and editor, Andrew has a degree in film and Bree brings the style to this dynamic trio.

Every girl dreams of having beautiful photos of her wedding day and Jo Bartholomew can make all those dreams come true.

A lovely English lass, now residing in Brisbane, Jo’s love for photography started after her move here to Australia. With a desire to document her new home and adventures, her darling Husband surprised her with her first camera and photography lessons. Starting with portraits and working on to weddings, Jo’s love of photography has continued to grow and you can see that in her work.

Entering the wedding industry in 2010, Jo has continued to go from strength to strength, with the opportunity to photograph events all over Australia and as well as internationally.

Self proclaimed sisters from other misters, Alyce and Colette are the ultimate photography team.

Describing their work as a joy-filled job, these high school besties are able to work in efficient harmony, allowing couples to enjoy quiet moments together on their wedding day. Both recently married, they know how important it is to honour their clients and support them along their planning journey.

Alyce and Colette Photographers thrive on authenticity and connection. Constantly striving to induce goosebumps, happy tears and laughter from their work, both as they are shooting and when people see their images. Believing that their work as wedding photographers is a privilge, they feel humbled to be asked into a couples intimate moments, documenting images in a family’s collective history.

Simon and Danielle are the faces behind the incredible Him and Her Events team. Wedding planning and styling extraordinaires, you’ll want to remember these names!

Him and Her Events offer a unique perspective into planning and styling. As a mixed gender team they are able to create custom built and inspired events with ease without needing to outsource.

Having been friends for several years, both having a passion for the events industry, they decided to bring their joint skills together and enter the wedding field as a team.

Danielle has a passion for all things networking and styling. Being incredibly organised and having and enthusiastic love for weddings, she began working in the industry several years ago. Ready to take the next step and to continue evolving meant teaming up with a partner who could bring the missing elements to the picture.

Simon is the tech savvy half of the pair. Having an extensive events background spanning a decade, he has a passion for AV and technical elements. He oozes innovation and no idea is too crazy.

With their combined skills and diverse backgrounds, Him and Her are able to offer a variety of alternative services such as lighting, AV, prop hire and MC services. Planning and building since April 2015, and getting into the swing of things in the following months, this darling duo have been busy, busy, busy!

You’re hearing straight from the horses mouth. We have been keeping this under wraps for some time now and we are excited to announce our new Brisbane venue to kick off 2016!

The Brisbane Racing Club is a unique venue that has our hearts racing with delight. With it’s fantastic history and character the venue is opening it’s doors to loved up couples tying the knot.

A Darling Affair will be filling the venue to the brim with the most creative, friendly and jaw dropping displays put on by our Darling vendors. Our festivals are full of life, colour, fashion, live music, fun and flavours.

We are also excited to be teaming up with some incredible sponsors who will be bringing out the big guns to make this event pop!

The Beauty Case will be heading up the fashion department and looking after the interests of all our style savvy brides-to-be. You will be inspired by some stunning fashion parades and a visit to the Brisbane Racing Club’s Bridal Lounge to try on some designer wedding gowns.

Moreton Hire is bringing one of their huge marquee’s that will be packed with some insanely talented wedding vendors. You will experience their grand marquee onsite – not just in a brochure. It’s all about the ‘experience’ when you come to A Darling Affair.

The amazing team behind AVIdeas is going to deck out the fashion parade area for your viewing pleasure with a stunning display and they will be going gangbusters with their incredible lights through out the outdoor areas as the sun goes down and the night life starts.

It will be our biggest wedding festival to date. Your not going to want to miss this, with more big announcements to come so stay glued to your screens.

We were so thrilled to be back on our own turf on The Sunshine Coast last Saturday! We have a soft spot in our hearts for our local crowd, both the vendors and the new brides and grooms to be, that come through the gates.

A Darling Affair’s events are all about creativity, inspiration and the friendliest vendors who are genuinely excited for you on your engagement to the love of your life. There were darling guests and wedding suppliers grinning from ear to ear and having a good old laugh as we walked around the venue of The Chapel Woombye.

When Elephant Met Zebra – our official photographers captured the days events to perfection for you to relive all over again, OR if you couldn’t make it you can see it for the first time and think damn I should have gone!

The weather forecast was a high percentage of rain. However, the heavens were kind to us and the sun shone down for us all to have a ripper of a day.

There was live music, food and drinks on the lawns and photo booth fun. Workshops by Trent & Jessie Photographers on wedding day photography and Coco Bride ran one on stationery styling, were bonus features at the event.

Simply Style Co decked out a beautiful bridal and suit collaboration with their gorgeous hire range. But wait there’s more!

The Fashion Parade was the highlight of the event and it still gives us goosebumps thinking about it. It was located under a magnificent nordic tipi by TIPI LUXE. Seriously you will fall in love with them. Just glorious!

Simply Style Co once again added simple touches of styling to the catwalk and Heavenly Blooms out did her self and created a beautiful hanging feature along with crowns and bouquets for the fantastic models from Katz Management.

The Fashion Parade was orchestrated by the wonderful talents of our fashion team led by Khesanh from The Beauty Case. With Khesahn at the helm, her team whipped up flawless make up and feminine natural hairstyles that were topped off by Komorebi Brides beautiful headpieces. The talented wedding gown and suit suppliers such as – Bohemian Brides, Willow Hastings Designs, Erin Clare Couture and Wil Valor inspired our darling guests who took front row seats.

We’d like to say a HUGE thank you to our incredible sponsors Hello May and Sunshine Coast Brides Magazine for their coverage of our event to get A Darling Affair out there to you darling people.

We were so stoked with the amazing talent. Thank you for putting on a fabulous show our incredible vendors. You make us so happy. It just keeps getting better every year! Let’s do it again sometime!

Get ready! Tomorrow is the big day! The Sunshine Coast Wedding Fair is one sleep away!

Close your eyes and dream of wedding inspiration and wedding suppliers that will make you grin from ear to ear. Then wake up, shower, dress in comfy clothes, grab your partner, bridal party, mum and Gran and head to The Chapel Woombye any time from 10am – 3pm.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:

THE FASHION PARADE – THE MAIN EVENT

The main event that draws a mammoth crowd is always the fashion parade at a wedding fair. Brides and grooms to be quickly jostle for position to see the gowns and suits float down the run way effortlessly on the models that wear them. There are jitters of excitement all round for the models, designers of the dresses and suits, backstage crew and the A Darling Affair team.

A Darling Affairs Gold Coast Fashion Parade was headlined by such a wonderful dream team. The Beauty Case and Interlaced Media rocked it again. Their hair and makeup work is flawless and the backstage crew are calm. Katz management models are getting their last pep talk and briefing. The designers dresses and suits are lined up and ready to go for quick change overs.

Talented fashion designers both local and interstate are behind the scenes. Bohemian Brides, Homebodii, Urbbana, Frankly my Dear and Suzanne Harward who travelled all the way from Melbourne to be at this event.

The anticipation builds and then the music starts.The first model steps out on to the runway…….
