THE GOLD COAST WEDDING FESTIVAL – WRAP UP

The Gold Coast Wedding Festival was just amazing if we do say so ourselves.

It was the perfect weather for the end of Autumn as the  industrial venue – Rabbit & Cocoon – is a market style set up with both inside and outside areas. The venue was filled to the brim with the most talented and incredibly friendly wedding creatives on the Gold Coast and beyond. It was set to be a fun night you could feel the anticipation growing in the air.

The bands starting cranking just after 5pm when our guests had knocked off work and headed to the festival to have a great night of wedding planning fun. The brides and grooms to be were cheerfully interacting with our vendors, some who are new to the scene and others who have been perfecting their art for years.

The wedding festival had loads of inspiration, colour, laughs and action with a mammoth fashion parade that was maxed out around the red carpet and orchestrated by The Beauty Case team and Interlaced Media. Our guests had eager eyes checking out the finer details of the beautiful gowns and tailored suits not to mention the models from Katz Management. The Fashion parade featured local and interstate designers. We are so excited that we have vendors traveling from other parts of Australia, like Suzanne Harward Designs, to be a part of the action.

With bellies filled with delicious food and drinks, guests and vendors mingled together like they had been friends from way back. The night went off with out a hitch and we couldn’t have been happier for yet another A Darling Affair event to go down in history as an ‘affair to remember’.

Special thanks goes to our ever so supportive and hardworking sponsor Hello May. We love that they come to our events and get to meet all you beautiful guests and their readers up close and personal. Also a HUGE thanks to When Elephant Met Zebra who works themselves to the bone capturing the wonderful night on camera.

Thank you all for coming. We loved seeing your smiling faces!

We hope you found the perfect wedding supplier for your big day!

There will be more in depth details and images to come of who was at the event and what they do this week. So stay tuned xx

Men! Men! Men!

A Darling Affair’s events are not just for the ladies. We have husbands that come to our events and help out behind the scenes so we know that we have to keep them entertained too, otherwise they would be bored. With this in mind our fairs are anything but boring for the male kind.

We cater for the grooms needs and look for vendors who they can relate to and can provide them with a unique service. We are so pleased to bring them quality suits and accessories created by our vendors. It is an investment that they can use over and over again at different events and parties they attend after you both tie the knot.

URBBANA

Urbbana self

Sam the creative director and owner of Urbbana (pictured in the centre) is just wonderful. We have worked with him on all of our fashion parades and photo shoots since A Darling Affair was launched. His suits and how he puts them together never ceases to amaze us.

This is a man who can dress you for success and knows what he is talking about.

Urbbana’s tagline is: ‘URBBANA is an expression of luxury, a brand that bases its reputation on excellence and quality of all products from the elegant fabrics to exceptional stitching’.

MADE WITH LOVE – JEWELLERY DESIGNERS

A Darling Affair’s humble beginnings came with a passion for handmade local arts and crafts. We are avid supporters of hard work and love for a person’s craft in the wedding industry. These two wedding vendors have these qualities overflowing from their very soul.

One of us in the ADA team has a sense of awe when it comes to jewellery making. Have you ever made a piece of jewellery from scratch? Have you visited a jeweller’s workshop? Well you are in for a treat on Friday night when you meet these adorable women at the Gold Coast Wedding Festival.

You will know that every piece that they have made has been touched by the creator’s hand when you put it on. These women craft custom pieces for your wedding day to make you feel extra special, to make you feel like a woman in all her glory.

BRISBANE FASHION PARADE – PART 2

anna dutton headerThe lunch time crowd at The Brisbane Wedding Fair hung around and grabbed their seats early for the next installment of the 1 of 3 fashion parades. Each fashion parade featured a new bridal gown designer and this time it was Anna Dutton Couture‘s turn to wow the crowd.

Anna is located in Mackay and flew in for the event – however in saying that she works a lot with Brisbane brides and loves the variety in clients that she has in the broader area.

Black Jacket Suiting joined the parade line up with the brides-to-be looking closely and imagining their grooms in them as the guy models were strutting their stuff – or were they just checking out the guys? Either way the models looked great in them.

The Beauty Case was on hand for touch ups on the make up after round one and also Aleesha Darke – A Fashionable Hair Life, both working their magic all over again. Both these teams were professionals at the highest level, relaxed and calm and knew their way around their brushes so the models from Mystique Model Management looked gorgeous in the crazy heat wave that hit Brisbane that day.

These gorgeous images were captured by the When Elephant Met Zebra photography team and we are so excited to look at them again and relive the whole experience. For some of you this is the first time seeing these images – maybe you couldn’t make it to the event – so enjoy! x

Brisbane Fashion Parade – Part 1

Jen and UrbbanaWell, well, well.

Brides and grooms-to-be came out in full force for the first fashion parade of the day and we couldn’t have been more pleased and what a show it was. It was just stunning and one of us from the A Darling Affair team even shed a tear because of the beauty of it all.

Autumn Grove Events set the scene with their inspiring and jaw dropping hand crafted vintage tree filling the room as  a backdrop to our parade and it’s available for hire too!

Jennifer Gifford Designs showed off her gorgeous award winning gowns. Textures, patterns, lace, fitted and flowing gowns, floated down the runway on our gorgeous models giving a fantastic diversity of designs that Jennifer tailor makes to her brides and their individual tastes.

Combined with the fantastic ever flawless make up of The Beauty Case, giving you a ‘real brides make up’ look up close rather than ‘parade makeup’ and hair by Aleesha Darke – A Fashionable Hair Life, our brides-to-be could really get inspired by the variety of styles.

We certainly don’t forgot the men in our lives, and the suits made to perfection by Urbbana were also centre stage and are of high quality that was easily evident on the catwalk.

The parade went off without a hitch thanks to the efforts of Interlaced Media and their calm, behind the scenes approach for such a huge event.

We highly recommend all these vendors and have worked with them all in the past and couldn’t be more happy to show them off to those who attended on the day and also to those that couldn’t and are still searching for their special day. Presented in gorgeous photo’s taken by our hard working photography sponsor – When Elephant Met Zebra – we hope you get inspired all over again and find your perfect wedding professional.

The Afternoon Fashion Show – A Wrap Up

Just in case there wasn’t enough prettiness on display for you at our Sunshine Coast Wedding Fair last weekend, we thought we better provide you with ANOTHER fashion show at 2pm for you to feast your lucky eyes on.  This parade featured stunning gowns from the local Judy Copley Bridal, who also provided that amazing dress for our promo shoot earlier this year.  Our models got to enjoy the company of the very bubbly, fun and talented girls from The Beauty Case who were in charge of hair and make-up for the afternoon parade and our handsome men were lucky enough to be dressed again by the supremely talented Urbbana.

More amazing photos from When Elephant Met Zebra are about to make your morning so much more enjoyable!

The Morning Fashion Show – A Wrap Up

Were you one of the faces in the big crowd at our 11.30am fashion show at our recent Sunshine Coast Wedding Fair?  If so, you would have seen first hand how amazing our models looked with fantastic images from When Elephant Met Zebra the stunning girls were dressed by Begitta (two of these dresses were brand new and made their debut from the new “White” range!) and had their hair and make-up done by the fabulous Sass & Niki and Boudoir Blush.   Our very dapper male models were decked out in AMAZING suits by our favourite – Urbbana.

A HUGE thank you goes to Twig and Grace for the AMAZING fashion parade fit out. An amazingly solid wooden arbour construction fitted out with gorgeous greenery cascading down thew posts is available from their hire range as well as the pallet wall structures. The magic that they created transformed the exterior of the building to a completely new space. The team can create your dream wedding with no doubt. Don’t bother doing it yourself.

When the fashion parade was over the crowd followed the the models down to the marquee and lounged in the Bridal lounge by Simply Style Co for our guests to have a closer look at the beautiful gowns.

Don’t panic if you weren’t able to make the morning show Darlings, we’ve got all the images of the prettiness right here for you to feast your eyes on.
