Stylists at A Darling Affair

There are SO many options out there these days when it comes to styling your wedding.  Gone are the days of chair covers and sashes and mirror base decorations (phew!).   The sky is the limit these days and you are only restricted by your imagination.  Stylists today are creative and passionate about making your wedding day a reflection of who you are as a couple… you can incorporate your interests into your styling and give your guests a little insight into the life of you and your brand spanking new official partner in life and crime.

A stall can say a lot about a stylist too!  So here is a bit of a recap on the stalls of our stylists at our recent Sunshine Coast Fair.  Thanks to When Elephant Met Zebra for these photos of Love Bird Weddings, Made to Match Events, Simply Style Co and Cloud Nine Weddings.

Styling Perfection by Simply Style Co.

We think our Sunshine Coast Fair this year looked prettier than ever before… between the sun drenched chapel, the warm and buzzing atmosphere in the back hall and the chilled out vibes in the marquee, we pretty much had all bases covered.  Our guests could mingle and enjoy the day with lots of yummy food to eat, lovely live music and pretty things to look at all around.

We have a big fat thank you we need to make to the very inspiring Simply Style Co who managed to transform the grounds into some kind of sweet magic on the day.  You may have noticed the gorgeous lounge set up where our models hung out in the marquee? Or those fantastic chairs and lawn games at the fashion parade and the front of the chapel?  And we’re sure you managed to get a glimpse of the very cool stall set up for Hello May… all of that (and more) came from Simply Style Co.  We LOVE these guys and we’re sure you’ll love them just as much as we do… if you need a stylist for your wedding then drop them a line right now.

In the meantime, here are some images from When Elephant Met Zebra of the beautiful event styling on the day…

Introducing the MAGNIFICENT Twig and Grace!

ADASC2014-436

Twig & Grace this year was our major floral designer for our Sunshine Coast Fair, so we knew that things were going to be taken up a notch… but what Dezley, Michael and the team created on the day left our jaws scraping along the ground.  These guys worked tirelessly to transform the entrance to the chapel along with the fashion parade area and we were squealing like kids on Christmas morning when we saw it come to life in front of our eyes.

Inside there was an explosion of colour! Their vintage french bike with the gorgeous wooden cart on the front overflowed with flowers that created a beautiful fragrance in the chapel. It was a glorious delight to the senses of both smell and sight and if you could eat their display you would!

Outside was a whole other story!

The lush greenery looked incredibly beautiful (we have never seen greenery used this way before – usually it’s a filler in your bouquet). It created the perfect backdrop for the day.  If you’re anything like us, you just can’t get enough of how amazing the fair looked this year.

We have never met a more organised and professional business in the wedding field, as they should be with years of experience in the industry under their belt with amazing personalities to match. If you are a creative soul you should really visit them in their store in Cooroy and stay for a cuppa and discuss all your wedding floristry needs.

THANK YOU TWIG & GRACE!  We love you. Can’t wait to work with you again!

So enough of our chatting we’ll let the images speak for themselves.

John is the owner, pastor, celebrant and all round good guy at The Chapel Woombye. We love this place because it’s a blank canvas and you can decorate this place to your hearts content. John very much lets you just go at it. Not many places let you have full creative control and that’s why we keep going back for more, more, more!!!

When you come to the fair you will see why we have fallen in love with this lovely white chapel and it’s nooks and cranny’s that make it a stylists dream come true.

Introducing our STYLISTS!

lovebird weddings

LOVE BIRD WEDDINGS

In a nutshell, who are you and what do you do?

Lovebird Weddings is a boutique wedding planning & styling agency, creating Beautiful, Inspiring and Original weddings on the Sunshine Coast.

Décor has been hand-picked to reflect Coastal, Rustic, and Vintage styling. Furniture is custom-made to ensure exclusivity. Fabric pieces are hand-made, bespoke to every wedding.

The Lovebirds team is a passionate group of artists, stylists, planners, and lovers of love stories.

We’ll take you on a wedding journey that you will love forever.

What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?

The most beautiful and personalised and unique thing I ever saw was on one of my first weddings. It was a Jewish wedding, and traditional for the bride to hand-make their own chuppah (or canopy) to get married under. My bride had collected all the love letters from her beau and screen-printed them onto pretty fabrics, which she then sewed together, and in the seams she sewed in old coins and collectables from her family. The end result was super gorgeous, and so romantic. They said their vows underneath all those lovely love letters that reflected the strength of their relationship. It was this chuppah that inspired my own interest in sewing bespoke canopies for my clients, and I’ve created many of them over the past 6 years.

What do you do in your free time?

I’m a lover of travel and adventure, so if I ever get an opportunity for a few days off, I will always want to go exploring.

If I have just a few hours, then I’m usually found in one of the following activities…reading books, drinking wine with friends, trying out new restaurants, downloading new music, hanging out with my family, or sometimes just taking a good mag to the beach for some “me time”.

Cloud Nine

CLOUD NINE WEDDINGS

What is it that you love about weddings so much?

The fact that every wedding is totally different.  The bones are the same from wedding to wedding, but every time a Bride makes a decision on any of the details, her wedding takes on its own unique style.   We spend many months with Brides planning, styling and creating amazing wedding days.  These are like our babies and we handle each one with just as much love and care.

What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?

I’ve been doing weddings for over 20 years so I’ve seen just about everything from Elvis serenading a couple during their bridal waltz, a crazy gothic wedding which has a blood toast,  through to some of the most romantic moments that can be witnessed between a Bride & Groom .

If you were a colour, which would you be, and why?

I would be lavender, it’s my calming colour.  When things are crazy, the colour lavender is my calm place.

MAYTIDE

In a nutshell, who are you and what do you do?

Maytide creates embossed and foiled boutique wedding and event stationery catering for those special few who appreciate the sophistication of simplicity and the value of individuality and personal style. Everything by Maytide is absolutely 100% sustainably produced using recycled materials and handmade processes.

As for me a bit about me. I love pink things, silly old songs, Melbourne, grapes, French films, flower s, soft kitty cats, gold, silver, les bon vivant, blah, blah, blah, all shades of white, electro folk music, neon lights, knitted things, déjà vu, clumsy people, P O P C O R N, and Julien to name just a few!

What do you do in your free time?

Eat fish and chips with my husband, trawl second hand markets, with my husband trailing behind holding the bags, and get as many hugs as I can from my husband.

…yep…corny.

If you were a colour, which colour would you be, and why?

White. I’m trying to be pure…HA! I would also like to be holographic silver sparkle a little bit at the moment.

No really, I love all shades of white. I guess being a stationery artist, I get to use lots of colour, and so I get my satisfaction in white. The different natural whites you find in nature especially thrill me. ie. Snow, cotton balls, recycled papers, flowers and things like that.

For some reason, everyone buys me pink things…I guess I secretly like it too, but I can’t really say I like pink, or LITERALLY my entire apartment will be like a pink elephant…eeeked all over the place.

Gemma Lauren

GEMMA LAUREN INVITATIONS

What is it about weddings that you love so much?

The creative individuality that you see in each different couple and of course 2 people head over heels for each other

What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?

Maybe not the most unique thing but it was very sweet… we attended a friend’s wedding by the lake, as their guest book they had all the guests sign an old fashion paddle that belonged to his grandparents. Now that paddle is hung proudly on their wall with their wedding photos and a ton of beautiful memories.

If you were a colour, which colour would you be, and why?

White (I know it’s not really colour) its peaceful, fresh, clean and inspiring a blank canvas

With Love SD

WITH LOVE STATIONERY AND DESIGN

In a nutshell, who are you and what do you do?

WITHLOVE stationery & design specialise in ready-made and custom wedding invitations and stationery, along with a brand new range of stationery products for all those paper extras you might need for the big day – think recycled timber stamps, foiled thank you cards, favour tags, engagement invites and much more. I’m the kinda gal that gets waaaayyyy too excited about paper stocks and I’m a lover of typography and design in general.

What is it about weddings that you love so much?

I’ve always loved weddings, but it was through planning my own wedding that I became hooked. As a graphic designer by day, I needed something to fulfil my desire to create beautiful things and so WITHLOVE was born. It’s so nice to be a part of such a happy celebration – I love meeting engaged couples who are just beaming about what lies ahead.

What do you do in your free time?

When I’m not designing stationery for my amazing couples or dreaming up products for my new stationery range, you’ll find me deeply engrossed in a design or wedding magazine/blog, or chilling with the husband. I also love to indulge in a relaxing bubble bath with my favourite candle, enjoy a G&T and long girly chats with my BFFs, brunch (I can’t express how much I love coffee and brunch!), and hanging out with my puppies, a beagle named Herman (Merman) and a lab x retriever, Kumar.
