We have an obsession with someone and her name is Tanya. She owns The Lovely Bird down at Cotton Tree on the Sunshine Coast (never fear she sells online too).

Tanya is bubbly, funny as heck, full of inspiration and ideas – we don’t know how she fits it all in her gorgeous head – a styling guru and is totally “on-trend”.

So if you are stuck for some inspiration for your wedding day, or looking for some awesome favours, crafty bibs & bobs and a good old laugh to take the planning pressure of your big day off your shoulders have a chat to our lovely Tanya.

I always leave her shop with something in hand, a smile on my face and a new project that she has inspired me with.

Pink Pink Pink!

Well I have to admit, it’s never been my favourite colour – and in a house full of boys, it’s a rarity around here. But when it comes to weddings – right now I simply can’t go past the blushing hues, in all their tones and varieties. A colour that sparks thoughts of romance, love and femininity. Soft or bold, warm or cool – pink is certainly “in” right now.

Currently, softer pinks are most popular when paired with gold, or mint. You’ll also find pops of pink against orange, yellow and red. But if you think about it, there’s a pink hue to be paired-up with any colour you can imagine; and you can feature it in just about any element of your big day.

You might have noticed that our latest event branding is awash with pink – no doubt you’ll find pops of pink around the place at our fair in just a couple of weeks! Let’s set the scene of two lovers soon to become one. To the alter the bride would traditionally walk to gaze into the eyes of the one she loves and there connects for the first time to be husband and wife.

It may sound theatrical, but really it is. People well up with emotions and grin from ear to ear for this joyous occasion. Families come together and unite through love.

We present to you what was the simple alter with a few minor decorating touches or a full blown creation. The “backdrop” now sets the scene………….

You can find the event details for our Sunshine Coast Wedding Fair here. You will also find the list of our fabulous vendors and sponsors, and the fantastic giveaways we have on offer!

Entry is 10.00 at the door, be one of the first 300 through the doors to pick up your Goodie Bag stacked to THE BRIM with all kinds of goodies, sweets, treats, vouchers and even a free indie mixed “tape” (CD). We also have 300 copies of White magazine for you to grab.

The event opens at 10am with fashion parades at 11.30am and 2.30pm. We’ll be running a Piñata bash and a bouquet toss with fabulous prizes to be won. Of course there is our AMAZING set of vendor giveaways that you can win by registering at the door as well.

We have NO EFTPOS facilities, but are just a stone’s-throw-away from Woombye town centre, so head to an ATM prior to arriving, and bring your cash for entry – but also for a little shopping. You can purchase a number of items for your big day at our fair, or simply a little treat for yourself to take home.

After an amazing event at the Gold Coast over the weekend (wrap up on its way soon!), we can’t wait for our next event – our Sunshine Coast Wedding Fair to be hosted at The Chapel Woombye on August 10th.

About a month ago we gathered together some of the Sunshine Coast’s finest wedding professionals to collaborate on a promotional shoot at our venue. We also ticked off one of our dreams on the A Darling Affair Bucket List – shooting real love by casting a REAL LIFE COUPLE, Michelle and Sam.

The brief for our shoot was spring inspired lavish florals, romantic glamour, with vintage touches and a modern twist. We love the final result – and I’m sure you’ll agree the added ingredient of genuine adoration between Michelle and Sam is the icing on the cake.

The shoot captured by our friend Chaddy from Dear & Tine features styling by our fair sponsor Style Le Aisle, gowns from the latest collection by our sponsor Marilyn Crystelle Bridal, florals by Willow Bud, Make-up by Natalie Hunter MUA and Hair by Monique from Altered Images. Of course it also features our fair venue – the gorgeously quaint Chapel Woombye that we love and adore!
