We were so thrilled to be back on our own turf on The Sunshine Coast last Saturday! We have a soft spot in our hearts for our local crowd, both the vendors and the new brides and grooms to be, that come through the gates.

A Darling Affair’s events are all about creativity, inspiration and the friendliest vendors who are genuinely excited for you on your engagement to the love of your life. There were darling guests and wedding suppliers grinning from ear to ear and having a good old laugh as we walked around the venue of The Chapel Woombye.

When Elephant Met Zebra – our official photographers captured the days events to perfection for you to relive all over again, OR if you couldn’t make it you can see it for the first time and think damn I should have gone!

The weather forecast was a high percentage of rain. However, the heavens were kind to us and the sun shone down for us all to have a ripper of a day.

There was live music, food and drinks on the lawns and photo booth fun. Workshops by Trent & Jessie Photographers on wedding day photography and Coco Bride ran one on stationery styling, were bonus features at the event.

Simply Style Co decked out a beautiful bridal and suit collaboration with their gorgeous hire range. But wait there’s more!

The Fashion Parade was the highlight of the event and it still gives us goosebumps thinking about it. It was located under a magnificent nordic tipi by TIPI LUXE. Seriously you will fall in love with them. Just glorious!

Simply Style Co once again added simple touches of styling to the catwalk and Heavenly Blooms out did her self and created a beautiful hanging feature along with crowns and bouquets for the fantastic models from Katz Management.

The Fashion Parade was orchestrated by the wonderful talents of our fashion team led by Khesanh from The Beauty Case. With Khesahn at the helm, her team whipped up flawless make up and feminine natural hairstyles that were topped off by Komorebi Brides beautiful headpieces. The talented wedding gown and suit suppliers such as – Bohemian Brides, Willow Hastings Designs, Erin Clare Couture and Wil Valor inspired our darling guests who took front row seats.

A WIND SWEPT SUNSET BEACH SETTING – STYLED INSPIRATION SHOOT

We loved this gorgeous styled shoot at Point Cartwright on The Sunshine Coast put together by some of the best. A collaboration by When Elephant Met Zebra shot on film (his passion), Simply Style Co, The Beauty Case, The Orange Blossom, Bohemian Brides and Erin Clare Couture.

It was a windswept wintery afternoon, waves were crashing on the rocks. As you walked around the headland there it was, a gorgeous and romantic table setting put together by Simply Style Co.

The dark blue table cloth, grey table runner and crisp white’s were combined with crystal glasses that shimmered in the afternoon light. All were layered effortlessly like beautiful soft ribbons that danced in the wind draping down onto the sandy setting below.

Corals, shells and strands of beads of different textures were scattered through out the table reminding you of the days when you would trawl sandy beaches as a kid and find treasures of different textures, shapes and sizes. A table setting like this makes you feel relaxed and will help the conversations flow.

Soft water colour details on invitations and material with tattered edges to finish them off, all give the feel of the watery surrounds.

If you want this gorgeous look on this beautiful model, be prepared for your hair to feel free in the wind. The Beauty Case had this in mind and chose to have a loose but styled look, elegant with loose curls but pinned to perfection. The soft touch of their makeup brush over a brides face will make her glow in the hours before sunset.

This gorgeous gown stocked by Bohemian Brides is soft and luxurious and is so dainty in the wind. Feminine and beautiful with a flowing hemline. Top it off with a long veil by Sunshine Coasts very own Erin Clare Couture and you have the perfect look that will make your lover swoon.

The bouquet by The Orange Blossom was crisp and fresh as if they were picked from a meadow nearby. Combining a love of land that meets the sea shore. Not tight and stiffly bunched together but lovingly put together.

If you want to have beach side photos on your wedding day, check the wind factor. Brian of When Elephant Met Zebra watches intently in the hours leading up to a shoot or wedding to get the best windswept look. He worked his magic as the day light hours ran out. Just think of you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated by the sea air before you meet with family and friends to party the night away in a celebration of love.

THE GOLD COAST WEDDING FESTIVAL – WRAP UP

The Gold Coast Wedding Festival was just amazing if we do say so ourselves.

It was the perfect weather for the end of Autumn as the  industrial venue – Rabbit & Cocoon – is a market style set up with both inside and outside areas. The venue was filled to the brim with the most talented and incredibly friendly wedding creatives on the Gold Coast and beyond. It was set to be a fun night you could feel the anticipation growing in the air.

The bands starting cranking just after 5pm when our guests had knocked off work and headed to the festival to have a great night of wedding planning fun. The brides and grooms to be were cheerfully interacting with our vendors, some who are new to the scene and others who have been perfecting their art for years.

The wedding festival had loads of inspiration, colour, laughs and action with a mammoth fashion parade that was maxed out around the red carpet and orchestrated by The Beauty Case team and Interlaced Media. Our guests had eager eyes checking out the finer details of the beautiful gowns and tailored suits not to mention the models from Katz Management. The Fashion parade featured local and interstate designers. We are so excited that we have vendors traveling from other parts of Australia, like Suzanne Harward Designs, to be a part of the action.

With bellies filled with delicious food and drinks, guests and vendors mingled together like they had been friends from way back. The night went off with out a hitch and we couldn’t have been happier for yet another A Darling Affair event to go down in history as an ‘affair to remember’.

TABLE STYLING INSPIRATION

There are certain elements of our stylists displays that we just fall head over heels with when they do a table setting at our wedding fairs. They give you just a taste of what you can expect from the rest of their range that they have on offer for you.

We wish we could take the pieces and place them in our very own home. Here’s a little table setting inspiration that they served up for you to be inspired by.

LOVESTRUCK

Lovestruck showed off the intimacy of having small round tables that seat 8 guests. It truly is a beautiful setting if you place the right people at the table who can have a great conversation all night – rather than ‘can you please pass the salt’.

The beaded chandelier with flowers dripping off the bottom stole our heart along with the beautiful champagne glasses.

You NEED to check out the rest of their range. They have the most unique pieces that we haven’t seen anywhere else.

CL Wedding & Events don’t scrimp on style and arrangements. When you sit at one of their styled tables it is a feast of visual explosion and beauty. Working closely with Twig and Grace who provided the hydrangea’s – it created a richness that you just wanted to sit down and devour the rest of the cake on the table.

lovestruck 1Straight out of high school Kelly, owner of Lovestruck, studied Event Management at Uni and used to regularly buy a bridal magazine just because she loved looking at all the pictures and dreamt of organising amazing parties.  These days we are lucky to have infinite number of amazing wedding magazines (such as Hello May!) and blogs to get inspired by on a daily basis.  It’s like her dream come true.

Lovestruck came to fruition after her own wedding in 2009, when both her and her husband discovered how hard it was to source anything out of the ordinary, typical wedding set.  It just seemed logical and they haven’t looked back.
